Top 3 Most Disgusting And Scary Looking Animals On The Planet
March 22, 2013 - 8:00 am | PermalinkOh, sure. You might think you’ve seen
some pretty scary horror movies. You might have gone through a
haunted house and got a few scares this last Halloween. But the
scariest decorator of all is, without a doubt, mother nature. Read on
if you dare, and look at some of the scariest and grossest real
creatures around.
The Snakefish

Snakes are generally pretty disgusting. Fish, while often delicious, are also pretty disgusting. This creature is technically a fish, but it looks a whole lot like what you'd get if a fish and a snake had a few drinks and went back to the fish's place for some scaly, repulsive humping. Get this—it's not bound entirely to the water either. The snakefish can actually go on land for up to three days (usually to find food). They aren't small either, averaging at about 2-3 feet long. People who unknowingly got a little too close to an egg nesting area have even been caught off guard and bitten by these creepy little monsters.
The Giant Isopod

Horrifying. Pure terror. This crustacean hails from the deeper parts of the ocean—often as low as 6,000 feet—and is entirely carnivorous. They don't have to eat live prey though, since down there in the dark, cold waters, they're perfectly content eating dead animals and fish that have sunk to the bottom. Doesn't just looking at that thing kind of make you feel a little...itchy?
The Giant Leaf Tailed Gecko

It looks kind of small in that picture, doesn't it? Well, the giant leaf tailed gecko usually grows to be about a foot long. With a gaping mouth and those eyes straight out of hell, that's plenty big enough. During the daytime, these little slitherers like to hang out in trees. If an unwary traveler accidentally disturbs it, it'll start to scream—quite loudly. Not because it's afraid of you, oh no. Because it's calling over all of its friends to help defend it. Imagine having fifty of those little freaks crawling around at your feet.
