This list will give you an idea as to what kind of winter vacation you might want to take because I’ll be naming some awesome festivals throughout the world. Here are 5 festivals for guys to visit during the winter season.
The artist director Ignacio Varchausky in 2002. The focus on this festival is the art of tango and it’s in Buenos Aires. Every year between August-September the festival takes place so if you missed out on it this year then maybe you should reserve a spot for it next year. It is free to get in but there is a price to pay for special tango classes plus seminars.
4. Sundance Film Festival
The Sundance Film Festival begins on January 17th, 2013 and it ends on January 27th, 2013. It’s a great way to start the new year. The festival happens in Utah and you can see many awesome films with this event. It’s always held in Park City and the festival is dedicated with showing plus promoting films that are independent.
3. Shetland’s Viking Festival
In Scotland the Shetland’s Viking Festival is famous. Every year the guys dress up like Vikings and have parades plus it turns into a huge fire festival. The last Tuesday of January is when the fire festival happens. People from around the world go to Scotland for this event.
2. Carnival in Rio de Janeiro
In Brazil they have the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. There are many events with this carnival and like the Viking festival in Scotland people come from around the world for this carnival. In this carnival Samba music is very popular. This carnival usually takes place annually in February around the 18th.
1. Frozen Dead Guy Days
In Nederland, Colorado they hold an annual celebration of Frozen Dead Guy Days. This tradition started back in 2002. The theme is focused around ice/frozen/winter/blue. In the year 1994 they discovered the cryonic state corpse of Bredo Morstel. The first weekend of March is when the celebration takes place. Frozen Dead Guy contests lookalikes are held on this day and there’s also a parade done in slow-motion. You can take a tour of the Tuff Shed and even join in on the snowshoe races plus snow sculpture contests. They always have fun things to do with this celebration but it’s very unique and a lot of fun so it makes the number one list of things that you should do in the winter time.
