Hi-5: The Five Hottest Female Soldiers on Film

5. Carolyn Fry (Radha Mitchell) - Pitch Black

Forgive the boring-ness of the above picture, but I couldn't find a higher resolution version of this:

Just try to imagine it.

Anyway, Fry is on this list not just because she's cute in an ethnically ambiguous sort of way, but because the audience spends the vast majority of Pitch Black under the impression that she, and not Riddick, is the main character. Horror movies tend to have cute females as lead characters (especially horror movies in space), so we grow to care about the cute Ms. Fry as she runs for her life alongside all the soon-to-be-dead extras. Then, right once the flick moves into its final ten minutes --

-- She fucking dies. Sad, memorable, and ultimately quite endearing.

4. Zoe Washburne (Gina Torres) - Serenity

Zoe is your quintessential badass hot chick, who would just as quickly shoot you in the kneecaps for smiling at her than take the effort to smile back. She's loyal to a fault, and actually has one of the bigger emotional penises on the ship (when someone close to her dies in Serenity, she shows very little emotion outside of anger and increased violent tendencies). 

It is, in fact, difficult to pick just one woman from the crew of Serenity as they're all incredibly hot, but Zoe remains the only gal on board who actually fought, killed, and sacrificed in a real war.

Also, she's got a really nice ass.

3. Kelly O'Brien (Reiko Aylesworth) - Alien vs Predator: Requiem

I haven't seen AvP:R, and I don't plan to. I simply wanted to include a female character from an Alien or Predator movie, and Reiko Aylesworth is the cutest one who comes to mind. As far as I am concerned, you don't really need to know anything more about the character or the movie than the single frame you see here.

Hot woman. Rain. Machine gun.

Period. 

2. Diz (Dina Meyer) - Starship Troopers

Poor Diz. We met you, we started to like you, we saw your breasts, and then you died a horrific and violent death solely so the ridiculous love triangle subplot between you, Rico, and Denise Richards could quickly come to an end. 

In the same way that Starship Troopers bridged the gap between awful 80's action flicks and awful 90's action flicks, so too does Diz look to be from two time periods at once. Her hair is stuck in the 80's, while the rest of her is totally new. Rather than being distancing or awkward, however, this made Diz alternately sexy-as-hell and not-that-hot; she became a walking contradiction whom viewers alternately wanted to bone, but without really knowing why. 

1. Sarah Connor (Lena Headey) - The Sarah Connor Chronicles

I dunno if you've noticed this or not, but Lena Headey is really fucking hot. It was pretty hard to tell just how hot she was in 300 given all the homoerotic glistening muscles and Spartan underwear, but damn -- in Sarah Connor Chronicles, the British actress looks awfully damned good. 

If anything, she's a hell of a lot hotter than Linda Hamilton. Less scary, less masculine, less of a badass, but much, much hotter. Complain all you want about how bad the show is, or how damaging it is to the continuity and tone of the franchise, but one thing cannot be argued: the new Sarah Connor is the biggest MILF of all time.
