Hi-5: Out of This World Women
Written by David Morgan
Science fiction movies and TV series are often filled with very attractive women. It’s doubtful that hot women are typically the main reason men watch sci-fi (hot women are in a surprising amount of non-science fiction too, you know) but they certainly never hurt. We could probably do a dozen of these lists just on alien/cyborg women. But for the time being, we’ll focus on these five, in no particular order.
River Tam - Firefly (Summer Glau)

If you’re not intimidated by women who can kung fu you to death as soon as look at you, River Tam is a good choice. And you know what they say about girls with stripped down amygdalas...
Mary the Tri-Breasted Hooker - Totall Recall (Lycia Naff)

It takes a lot to stand out in a movie as good as Total Recall, but Mary certainly does that. Okay, she doesn’t really have the looks to be on this list. But c’mon. Three breasts!
Number 6 - Battlestar Galactica (Tricia Helfer)

Humans, humanoid Cylons, it’s all the same when the lights go off. Even most of the time when the lights are on. Number 6 warrants lights on.
Leeloo - The Fifth Element (Milla Jovavich)

Sometimes the best women are the ones made in labs. Certified “perfect” by scientists and priests alike, Leeloo kicks ass, speaks the Divine Language and looks good doing it. There must be something about being incredible fighters that makes these sci-fi women so attractive.
Sil - Species (Natasha Henstridge)

Someone had to make a film warning people of the dangers of sex with aliens, and we salute director Roger Donaldson and his cast and crew for doing so. But, most of all, we salute Natasha Henstridge for devoting herself to this message for three full feature films. That’s what they used to call “commitment.” Thank you, Ms. Henstridge. You’ve saved dozens of lives.
