Hi-5: Five Women Who Make Timeouts OK
Written by Mario Frassetto
Last month we introduced you to some of the eye candy that made us want to actually watch broadcast news. This month we turn our attention to the world of sports and the lovely ladies that bring us those ever-important time-out and half-time interviews.
Educated and hot, these ladies are not only easy on the eyes, but they usually seem to know something about the sports they are covering. We like to think of them as the second best thing to happen to sport – after cheerleaders, of course. So, without further ado: over to you, ladies!
Erin Bates

First up is Erin Bates, a motocross pit reporter for SpeedTV. We don’t know too much about her, but she was Miss FMX, so that has to count for something: it got her a job as a pit reporter for SpeedTV, for example. Anyway, she also was in the movie Supercross, where she exhibited her acting chops by playing herself. We guess her acting career had to start somewhere. Regardless, she makes us want to buy a 250cc motocross bike and win a race, because then she would talk to us.

Lisa Guerrero

Lisa Guerrero got her start in the entertainment business as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams in the early 1980s. After proving to someone at ABC that she actually has a brain, she moved on to Monday Night Football and The Best Damn Sports Show Period. Then, the not-so-40-years-old-looking 40-year old Guerrero posed for the January 2006 issue of Playboy. Sure, she’s not working the sidelines anymore, but we don't care. This cougar's still got teeth.

Shana Hiatt

Hey, poker's a sport, right? OK, we may be cheating a little bit on this one, but who could resist? Hiatt is a poker host extraordinaire. She's been the face of an unreasonable number of poker shows and has become an avid player as well. We never see Bonnie Bernstein slap on a helmet and cleats and take some snaps, so Hiatt scores bonus points for getting her hands dirty... although we admit that glaring across the table at someone doesn't have the kick to it that evading a red dog blitz does. But hey, she's smoking hot. I'm sure you're not complaining.

Erin Andrews

And then there is Miss Erin Andrews (What’s up with girls named Erin being hot? Seems like a trend.). Erin is a classic beauty and takes the girl next-door reporter crown. A former member of the University of Florida dance team (The Dazzlers), she still shines on the sidelines. As a reporter for Major League baseball, Erin has on more than one occasion had to dodge foul balls. Take that however you wish, you dirty bastards. Check out this hilarious/sad video slideshow some stalker put together in reverence of Andrews, featuring the song "She's a Beauty" by The Tubes.
Lisa Dergan

With most sideline reporters, it's hard to find a picture of them where they look as hot as you remember them. Their hotness is, in some sense, a product of their environment -- most players are ugly, so any estrogen immediately lights the screen up by comparison. But with Lisa Dergan, it's hard to find a picture where she's wearing clothes. A Playboy playmate in 1998, Dergan might just be the hottest person ever to say the word "sports." How's her sports knowledge? Does she even have any idea what she's talking about? We wouldn't know. Sorry. We weren't really paying attention.
