Hi-5: Five Big Screen Narikos
Written by Travis Hudson
Meet Nariko. Don’t know who the hell this red-headed, ass-kicking vixen is? Don’t worry, you'll soon learn. Nariko is the hero in the latest action thriller, Heavenly Sword, set to hit the PlayStation 3 this September. Nariko rocks a weapon called the Heavenly Sword (hence the name) but, more importantly, Nariko is hot – smokin’ hot. Rumor has it Heavenly Sword will expand into a trilogy, and popular video game franchises have a logical extension: a feature film. So who's best suited to portray Nariko in the inevitable big screen adaptation?
Ali Larter

Ali has proven herself in two ways that would make her suitable to fill Nariko’s britches. She can kick ass -- that is apparent from her role in Heroes. Sure, the enemies she would face in Heavenly Sword would be a hell of a lot different than the random goons and security guards she showed up on Heroes, but that doesn’t matter. She has a fighter’s mentality.
The second reason that Ali can make the PlayStation fans squirm in their seats is the fact that she already has a notch in her video-game-character-actress belt with her role as Clair Redfield in Resident Evil: Extinction, hitting theaters in September.
Alyson Hannigan
Hold on, hold on. Step away from the flame button and hear me out. Alyson Hannigan fulfills a solid quote required for Nariko—hot red hair. Sure, she may have A LOT of crap on her resume (How I Met Your Mother, Date Movie and that ass series of American [whatever] movies), but on the other side of the spectrum she rocks some geektastic sci-fi shows like Veronica Mars and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Drapes. Carpet. Etc.
Keira Knightley
So Nariko is all about using her heavenly sword to kick ass, and if anyone knows about using a sword it is Keira Knightley. Her limited use of small swords in the Pirates of the Carribean movies probably doesn’t qualify her for use of the Heavenly Sword, but after a bit of practice I’m sure she would wield it.
There is one minor problem that seems to follow Keira around in all her travels. She is lacking in some "assets," the same "assets" that are normally not lacking in video game characters... but with the help of technology, that can be fixed! Hooray for digitally enhanced breasts!
Lucy Liu
It wouldn’t be a regular day around the neighborhood without fulfilling our racial stereotyping quota. Nariko—that’s an Asian name, right? Sure, so let’s toss Lucy Liu into the ring of vixens that could take on the role of Nariko. Apart from Kill Bill, Lucy’s resume is mediocre, and I would not count the Charlies Angels movies as qualification for action and stunts, but she sure is purty. And isn’t that all the really matters?
