There are numerous products available that promise to help you look good. However, what really works are these 10 habits that will help you improve the way you look. If you start these habits today in as little as 2 weeks you will see a noticeable difference in your appearance.

1. Change your Bedsheets

One of the main reasons that people have facial breakouts is because of dirty pillow cases. Changing your bed sheets each week can reduce the contact of your skin with grime that can clog your pores. If you are female and wear makeup, this residue can be left behind on the sheets as well and be transferred to your face.

2. Only Shampoo Once a Day

Shampooing your hair actually strips it of its natural oils. For this reason it is ideal to only use shampoo a few times a week. However, for those that work out often, you need to shampoo daily. Just make sure that you follow the shampoo with some leave in conditioner and that you are only washing your hair once a day.

3. Whiten teeth twice a year and floss each day

Oral hygiene is extremely important for your appearance. Having your teeth whitened every six months is ideal to keep your teeth from becoming stained. This can be done using a whitening kit from the drug store or with your dentist. Flossing each day gets rid of all the buildup in your teeth that can be unattractive.

4. Get a haircut once every 6 weeks

Keeping your hair trimmed is important to make sure that you look attractive at all times.

5. Shave after you shower

When the bathroom is all steamy after your shower your pores will be open and make the facial hair plumper and softer. When you shave at this time you reduce the risk of ingrown hairs and razor burn. If you do not take a shower first, use a hot towel applied to your face for a couple of minutes before you shave.

6. Cleanse and Moisturize

It is important to have a basic skin care routine in place. This includes washing your face each day and applying moisturizer. It is also a good idea to use some type of eye cream and a lip balm in the morning to keep your eye area hydrated and your lips moistened.

7. Avoid simple Carbs and Sugars

Your diet plays an important role in your appearance. Eating a diet that is high in vegetables and lean proteins is the best way to reduce any type of bloating and puffiness that may occur from eating things that are high in carbohydrates. Reducing the amount of sugar that you eat can also play a large role in reducing outbreaks of acne.

8. Sleep

Sleep is the time when your body repairs itself. For this reason it is important to get anywhere from seven to nine hours each night. This is vital for your appearance because those people that do not get enough sleep mess up their entire system and their bodies run inefficiently. The signs of not getting enough sleep show up in your face first.

9. Drink Water

You should drink water everyday. Water helps your skin stay hydrated and reduces the appearance of any wrinkles in your skin. You should sip water slowly all throughout the day as it is easier for your body to absorb in this way. You should avoid too much caffeine or alcohol as they are diuretics that cause your body to let go of water. Drink enough water to cover the amount of caffeine or alcohol that is consumed.

10. Exercise

Exercise is not something that can be negotiated. You need to indulge in some type of physical activity at least three to four times a week if not every day. This is the only way to keep your body in shape and it also helps you feel better. This increases the way that you feel about yourself and provides you with a much better appearance.
