Zut Alors! Classic 'Wonder Woman' Villain Confirmed(?) by French Article

The one thing that all Wonder Woman fans have been hoping for from the new film was an appearance from classic Wonder Woman villain Ares. This dude...

Well, it looks like we might be seeing him in the film after all, and possibly as the big bad. We know that Elena Anaya is playing a villain—probably Circe—but now it seems that the plot of the film will center around the actions of Wonder Woman's half-brother and God of War. French publication Studio Ciné Live did a feature on Wonder Woman and we have a rough translation thanks to Les Toiles Héroïques, and some key plot points about the film were revealed.

First up, Chris Pine reveals that his character—Steve Trevor—ends up involved in this mess because of a secret mission gone wrong. “I play a pilot who works for the Allies and spies on the Germans without their knowledge. My character steals a notebook filled with scientific formulas in an Ottoman base, he steals a plane but is shot down in the open sea.”

Okay, so those "scientific formulas" he mentions apparently have something to do with a plot devised by Ares. “Behind these scientific formulas, there is a deadly gas that could well annihilate humanity. Now, it turns out that this is precisely the goal of Ares, the god of war. He is jealous of humanity, which is a creation of his father, the deceased Zeus (he was killed by Ares when he rebelled against him, with the help of the Amazons)…

Now, there's no guarantee this is legit, but it seems like it could be on the level. When you further factor in the fact that we have no idea who Danny Huston's character is yet...

The guy's dressed in military garb, so the "God of War" thing might be a bit surface level and all, but this is the DCEU where everyone wears their belief system on their sleeve, so let's face facts. This is totally legit and Danny "I'm not ashamed to do full frontal nudity" Huston is playing him. Get used to it.
