One thing a new Star Wars movie more or less guarantees is a new variety of ships that can be turned into toys and sold to men-children. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that December's Star Wars Episode VIII: Why Isn't There a Subtitle Yet will introduce us to a new fleet of ships, including a redesigned TIE Fighter in which the villainous Kylo Ren can tool around the galaxy... Tool being the key word there.
Making Star Wars has heard a credible rumor which states that Kylo Ren has a new ship to replace his Command Shuttle, and it's designed in homage to grandpappy Vader's TIE Fighter Advanced.
"His ship is slightly unlike his grandfather’s used in the attack against the rebels at the Death Star trench. The fuselage is sort of pill-shaped like the TIE Striker in Rogue One. They actually built the ship physically at Pinewood according to our friends near the sets. We’ve also heard Kylo Ren has a cape inspired by Darth Vader in VIII, so it isn’t that big of a stretch to imagine he has a similar (albeit more modern) ride that matches his love for Darth Vader. The ships design is said to be very similar to this piece of concept art from The Force Awakens we shared back in July of 2015:"
Remember, this is all dirty, dirty speculation until we start seeing actual pictures of ships from the film. And, speaking of dirty, dirty speculation...
According to the website Houndstooth—which has been a reputable source of LEGO leaks in the past—the TIE Bomber from The Empire Strikes Back (above) will also get gussied up and receive a First Order black and red re-deco like the standard TIE Fighters got for The Force Awakens. Houndstooth spotted the vehicle as part of an upcoming LEGO set, which indicates that the ship will at least appear in the film, if not have a bigger role than expected.
