Yesterday I brought you the news that Woody Harrelson is in talks to play a mentor role in the upcoming Han Solo spinoff movie, and while he seems like the perfect choice, he wasn't the first choice. That's right folks, believe it or not, the role was originally offered to Christian Bale, but he passed and we're now dealing with the fact that we'll never get to hear Christian yelling at Han for several minutes while the people in charge just kinda stand around and let it happen.
According to Borys Kit, a writer for The Hollywood Reporter, Bale was approached for the role before Harrelson, but declined the opportunity to join the Star Wars Universe. It's not totally unexpected that Bale passed as he's probably done visiting children's hospitals after his time spent playing Batman, and wouldn't want another job that more or less makes that kind of thing mandatory. I don't blame you, Bale, that kind of shit is depressing. Woody's down to hit up the children's hospital, especially now that weed is legal in California. Just think of all the fun presents Woody can bring those kids.
If you're anything like me, however, you wish that there was a way to know what Bale would have been like in the film. Well, here's my interpretation of what that would have been like. Enjoy!
