Everybody's got Star Wars on the brain these days and we've got another bit of casting news for the upcoming Han Solo movie to keep the whole thing at the forefront of your mind for the next 18 months when the movie comes out. Freed from the shackles of a failed Terminator reboot trilogy, Emilia Clarke is bringing her talents to South Beach—aka the Han Solo prequel.
According to StarWars.com, Clarke will appear in a major role in the untitled film, though they're a little vague with the details. "Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures," is as close as they get to hinting at who she'll be playing. No doubt it'll be some strong willed woman that offers Han a verbal tête-à-tête before he beds her.
For the record, I really shouldn't be as harsh on this film considering Phil Lord and Chris Miller have earned at least a little bit of trust thanks to their previous films that just shouldn't have worked but did, i.e. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21 Jump Street, The LEGO Movie, and 22 Jump Street. Let's hope they pull off another surprise.
