Honest Trailers Takes Aim at 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

Even more forgettable than the thoroughly disposable Days of Wheel Spinning Past, X-Men: Apocalypse was one of this summer's earliest disappointments, but it's gotta be a sign of how bad the rest of this summer was that I'm entertaining the notion of watching it again. Thank goodness the folks over at Screen Junkies know better than to let me make that mistake, and put together this Honest Trailer that breaks down a number of the film's substantial problems.

As much as I enjoyed this Honest Trailer, I'm left a little dumbfounded by the fact that they left the film off the hook for setting up far more than it paid off. This should've been the culmination of the First Class trilogy and instead felt like the prequel to yet another trilogy. It's a credit to Bryan Singer and his great cast that the movie works at all, but this was one of the noisiest and emptiest movies of the year. It wasn't the worst superhero movie of the year, or even the second worst, but it's definitely the third worst. I guess that's not really saying much though, is it?
