As I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't enjoy Batman v Superman unironically, it's probably a good sign that Gal Gadot is saying that Wonder Woman is nothing like that movie. In fact, according to Gal, the character's not even the same in this movie as she was in that one.
While speaking with We Got This Covered about her latest film, Keeping Up With the Joneses, Gadot made sure that people know and understand that the upcoming Wonder Woman film is completely different from anything else we've seen in the DCEU...
"Wonder Woman is different. On this film, we went back to Diana’s backstory—to her history, her coming of age. How did Diana become Wonder Woman? But with this character, what I love about her so much is that her agenda is love. It’s not about fighting, it’s not about who is stronger than whom; it’s not about women versus men. It’s about love, and acceptance of others. She stands for love, justice and compassion."
Well, that's good news I guess. I don't think any of us were expecting a dour and humorless film with zero sunlight, nor were they expecting a disjointed mess that reeked of studio interference. Honestly, it would take a really shitty movie at this point to be worse than anything we've seen thus far, so I'm not too worried about this one.
