If, while watching Guardians of the Galaxy, you found yourself wishing it were infinitely more weird, you might be Steven Tyler. I imagine he's the only man in the world who watched that film and thought, "I could make that film at least 75% more bizarre," and he's now doing what any rock star with a platform and a desire to end up in a Marvel movie can do... using that platform to shamelessly beg for a part.
Tyler, aka Carly Simon with a beard, recently talked with People Magazine about his role in a horror movie titled Happy Birthday, and of course talk soon turns to how distracting stunt casting like this can be in a film. "Obviously I understand that when you see a guy like me or Keith Richards in a movie [like] Pirates of the Caribbean, that some people might go, 'Hey, isn't that Steven Tyler?'" he explains. "But we worked on the character enough where I think it melds into the movie without sticking out too much."
Without sticking out too much? Allow me to present you an image of what he looks like in this movie and you decide if they did a good job of not making him stick out too much...
Tyler, aka Sir Didymus from Labyrinth, then went on to make his pitch for a role in Guardians of the Galaxy 3, seemingly out of nowhere...
"I hope [audiences] enjoy [Happy Birthday]. I know I did! It made me want to do more movies for sure, I would do anything to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 – are you listening James Gunn?"
The answer is no. No, he's not.
