The First Clip from 'Batman: The Killing Joke' is a Doozy

If you've read Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's The Killing Joke, you know that one of the most intense sequences in that book comes when Batman confronts the Joker in his jail cell and gives him the "how this is going to end" speech. Well now we have our first look at this scene from the upcoming Batman: The Killing Joke animated film and it's every bit as amazing as you hoped it would be.

DC All Access released the clip at the tail end of an insufferable video, so to skip past the two doofuses rambling on about god knows what and get right to the clip, go right to 3:57. While there's not much going on in the clip, just about everything is going on, if you know what I mean. This is one of those quintessential Batman and Joker scenes that's been cribbed to death in other books and even The Dark Knight. It's brilliant that we never get to hear Mark Hamill's Joker in the clip, and we only see him partially obscured by shadows, making him even more menacing. This is the ultimate badass version of The Joker, and I'm excited we get to see it this summer before Jared Leto takes a big old Juggalo shit all over the character's legacy.

Seriously, if you only see one DC film this summer, make it this one. The film arrives on Blu-ray August 2.
