The Universal Monsters Shared Cinematic Universe continues to grow, picking up another Oscar winner willing to put on monster makeup and smash everything in sight. According to Variety, Javier Bardem, the man who unsuccessfully tried to bring back the Dutch pageboy look in No Country for Old Men, is in talks to play Frankenstein's Monster, joining Tom Cruise's Mummy hunter, Russell Crowe's Jekyll & Hyde, Johnny Depp's Invisible Man, and potentially Dwayne Johnson as the Wolfman.
Universal does seem like they're taking this shared cinematic universe of theirs seriously, going out of their way to cast good people in these movies. Granted, they could all be hot piles of garbage, but it certainly seems like they're making a concerted effort to cast good people. Javier Bardem has given us two iconic villains in the last decade in the aforementioned No Country for Old Men and Skyfall, and he would definitely add more gravitas to the monster universe. Whether or not they want their Frankenstein Monster to talk is another story, but I'm sure Bardem can pull it off.
What do you guys think? Would Javier Bardem get you to buy a ticket? If not him, who would you like to see as the Frankenstein Monster? Let us know in the comments section below!
