'Batman: The Killing Joke' Getting Limited Theatrical Release

The one Batman movie being released this year that all fans could agree looked awesome is the upcoming animated adaptation of Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's The Killing Joke. Sadly, like all DC Animated Features, it was supposed to go direct to DVD & Blu-ray, but the will of the people was too great, and now Warner Brothers has relented and decided to release the film in select theaters this summer.

According to Newsarama (link below), Warner Brothers is teaming with Fathom Events to get the film in theaters for one night only, late next month...

The event will take place on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. local time and will include special features such as an introduction by Mark Hamill, who reprises his voiceover role as the Joker for the animated feature.

Tickets go on-sale Friday, June 17 at Fathom's website and participating theater box offices. A complete list of theater locations can be found at the Fathom Events website.

Like most of these Fathom Events deals, this one will likely get a one-night extension provided it does well, but consider me sold on seeing this one on the big screen. It looks too good to miss!
