Our First Look at 'The LEGO Batman Movie'

I'm not exaggerating when I say that Will Arnett is my favorite onscreen Batman, so the prospect of an entire film devoted to his caped crusading excites me to no end. While we've heard precious little about the film outside of some mostly spot-on casting—I'm looking at you Mariah Carey—we haven't seen any images from the film until today. Well, yesterday, actually, but provided you get all your news from me, it's today. Behold!

I imagine many jokes will revolve around the elaborate gadgets and gizmos in the Batcave, and these photos seem to show that at least a portion of the film will be spent in Batman's sanctuary.

One of the best things about Arnett's LEGO Batman is his flair for the dramatic, and these pictures of him tooling around Gotham show he hasn't lost that flair.

Finally, this has to be the best of the bunch, showing Bats catching a midnight snack. While we have yet to lay eyes on Michael Cera's Robin, Rosario Dawson's Batgirl, Zach Galifianakis' Joker, or Ralph Fiennes' Alfred, I'm fine with waiting a little longer. We're scheduled to see a trailer attached to Batman v Superman, but it'll likely be a teaser. I imagine the first full trailer will debut before Warner Animation's Storks in September. That first LEGO Movie teaser, which I first saw in front of Man of Steel, immediately erased any doubts I had about the viability of a LEGO motion picture. The LEGO Batman Movie opens on February 10, 2017.
