'Star Wars Episode VIII' Announces Start of Production with a Teaser

Not every movie announces the start of production with a thirty second teaser trailer, but not every movie is Star Wars Episode VIII. Production has begun on the second film in the newest Star Wars trilogy, and this all too brief teaser lets us see some interesting new angles of The Force Awakens final scene. I'm sure this will be the first of many controlled leaks between now and December 2017.

The other interesting tidbit from this piece on /Film (link below) is that Laura Dern and a newcomer by the name of Kelly Marie Tran have joined the cast of the film.

Star Wars: Episode VIII, which is written and directed by Rian Johnson and continues the storylines introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, welcomes back cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis. New cast members will include Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro, Academy Award nominee Laura Dern, and talented newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.

Like I said, we'll be hearing more soon enough, though I do wonder if Laura Dern will have anything more than just a glorified cameo.
