'Incredibles 2' and 'Cars 3' Have Directors

null

Let's get the great news out of the way, right away. Brad Bird has made it official that he'll be back at the helm of The Incredibles 2, which is obviously a fantastic call and one that has removed all doubt I had in the project. As for Cars 3, it looks like it's going to be directed by Dan Scanlon, the guy who made Monsters University. So... yay?

According to Pixar Planet (link below), both announcements were covertly made on Twitter, but both have been confirmed. Don't get me wrong, Monsters University wasn't bad, but anyone criticizing The Good Dinosaur and defending Monsters University needs to take a long look in the mirror. Also, it's Cars 3, so does anyone really give a shit? Any huge fans of that franchise up in arms over this decision? Yeah, I didn't think so. Anyway, Cars 3 will be in theaters first, next summer—2017—with Toy Story 4 coming in 2018 and The Incredibles 2 in 2019. So yeah, the next four Pixar films, including this summer's Finding Dory, are sequels. Yay?
